God, in the flesh, on earth. He preached to man about the glories of the kingdom of God, about how to overcome the horrible consequences of sin, about how to be righteous and helpful to mankind. About how to live forever.
And within three years, His own people couldn’t stand it and killed Him.
When they came to arrest Him in the garden, out of their mind with rage and madness, He went with them, of course. It’s what He came to earth for. As they took Him, He said, “But this is your hour, and the power of darkness." (Luke:22.53).
The power of darkness. The incredible control sin has over the human spirit. It even leads people to murder their unborn babies and mutilate their children. And make excuses to condone it.
The power of darkness, indeed. If it killed God in the flesh, it would have no trouble killing human babies.
